The Birth of Nanabosho

By Winnipeg author Joseph McLellan who specializes in First Nations educational children's books

McLellan is a big advocate of storytelling as a way of passing on knowledge. He frequently puts traditional First Nations oral stories into print to teach lessons. Nanabosho is an Ojibwe teacher and trickster. This series tells of Nanbosho in an array of situations that are meant to educate about life and our relationship with the things around us.

The Birth of Nanabosho is a meaningful story that tells just how Nanabosho came to Earth and the reason that he did so. He came to people to instill in them the idea that all things must be respected.
